Greetings in His graces, Episcopal Missionary Church - Diocese of the East!
On Saturday, April 17th at Christ Church Anglican, Warrenton, VA we will celebrate ordinations, acceptance & reception of Holy Orders and setting apart services for the following:
Ordination into the Priesthood: Deacon Russ Dameron
Acceptance & Reception of Holy Orders into the Episcopal Missionary Church: Fr. Emmanuel Saidi, Ph.D.
Ordination into the Diaconate: Licensed Eucharist Minister Dan Lees
Reception into the Order of Phoebe (Deaconess): Joanne Craft
The ordination service will begin at 10AM. As a result of continued Covid-19 restrictions, we will postpone the luncheon celebration until the current restrictions are suspended.
Please make plans to join us for these most significant and joyous sacred ceremonial services.
In Acts 13 we see an excellent example of a clergy/ministerial appointment:
“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off. The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia” (vv. 2-4).
Please take note of four key insights in this passage:
1. It is God Himself who calls to the ministry and qualifies those called with the necessary gifts (Acts 20:28; Ephesians 4:11).
2. The members of the church recognized the Almighty God’s clear leading and then embraced it wholeheartedly.
3. With prayer and fasting, the church lays hands on Paul and Barnabas to demonstrate their commissioning call (Acts 6:6; 1 Timothy 5:22).
4. The Almighty God works through the church, as both the church and the Holy Spirit are said to be involved in the process of calling and commissioning.
"Rejoicing with a joy inexpressible and full of His Glory!"
